Lonely Bird

Lonely Bird is the concept and product of Kyle Barnoff.  The site finds people on Twitter that are interested in a business, then converts those users to followers of that business’ Twitter account.  The bird searches through a user’s history, description and location the find individuals that may be interested in a customer’s product.  The website uses multiple calls to Twitter’s API, MYSQL database integration with a back end built in PHP.  An algorithm built using PHP analyzes how well a user fits a customer so that value based decisions can be made later.

Sones Maintenance is a website built for a local business owner.  Sones wanted a website to help promote their business and allow customers to better communicate with the contractor.  The site is simple, but it employs a back-end allowing the company to update information when they desire.  It also gives customers two different ways to communicate with the contractors.  This website has a limited amount of SEO work designed to help the company appear on local searches.

Steeze Muffin is a wordpress blog focused on updating content related to the skiing and snowboarding industry.  This blog was set up by Kyle from a templet and some custom php modifications were done to optimize the functionality of the site.  Special plugins were  used on the back-end to optimize Search Engine Optimization and index the site contents with Google. Widgets for the site were also set up to the desires of the Steeze Muffin.  Also included in the design were the branding of the site using tags relating to the industry and the website’s domain name.

Cameron Card Photography

Cameron Card Photography is an experimental website that shows the power of javascript’s on page animations.  Javascript on the site also allows content to be updated without reloading all of the page’s html and css.  This speeds up the navigation of the page.  The website may not be fully functional, but looking at the calendar will give you an idea of some of the capabilities of javascript.  Flash is not the only method for animation, in fact, javascript is more convenient for SEO and gathering data!

Penn State Global Medical Brigades

The Pennsylvania State University’s Global Medical Brigades benefited from the first website constructed by Kyle.  The site features numerous tools for social contact between group members.  The website includes a forum, messaging, unique user page, a user login and more.  Administrators on the site can update important content like polls and ‘about us’ while users can comment and contribute to the overall content on the site.  The site is designed to be dynamic and informative.
